Voluntary & Community Sectors

Much of our work involves the Voluntary and Community sectors particularly developments around the social economy. Some examples of this important strand of work are:

Impact of Objective One Funding on Cornwall's Voluntary Sector(2007-2008)
Perfect Moment have just completed a major programme of research, on behalf of Cornwall Voluntary Sector Forum (CVSF), into the voluntary sector in Cornwall in 2007 exploring various areas including: the impact of Objective 1 funding on the voluntary and community sector in Cornwall, the size and significance of the sector, the impact and scale of volunteering in the economy of Cornwall & Isles of Scilly, and the effect of voluntary sector activity on unemployment and training.

Westminster 2012 Volunteering Strategy (2007)
We worked alongside Creative Cultures to research and develop the Olympics Volunteering Strategy for Westminster City Council. As well as hosting a number of Olympic events, Westminster will also be host to increased numbers of visitors to London during 2012.  However, the strategy is being designed to cover Pre Volunteering, the key Olympic period, and the years beyond to leave a lasting legacy.

Eco-watch volunteer consultation (2007)
We have conducted a volunteer survey and a focus group with the Eco-watch conservation project based on the Dartington Estate in Devon. The aim of this work is to help shape future volunteering programmes and to contribute to further funding applications.

Social Enterprise Mentoring (2004 - 7)
This was a major business support programme funded by European Objective 1. Perfect Moment provided business advice and mentoring to 25 cultural organisations across Cornwall that are looking to develop as social enterprises and improve their earned income.

Cornwall Neighbourhoods for Change (2002 - 6)

We have a long standing relationship with CN4C and have helped to secure grants worth over £1.3million for a range of activities including youth work, play training, community development and pathways to employment programmes. We are currently developing a major scheme for strategic neighbourhood development worth over £375,000.

Cornwall Sustainable Tourism (2005)

Mount Hawke Skate Park (2003 - 6)
We were project champion for one of the UK’s leading indoor skate parks. Our work with Mount Hawke SK8 Park has included mentoring, business planning, and assistance with funding bids to secure a total of £1million for a training centre to meet the needs of disadvantaged young people. The project was praised by arts minister Estelle Morris on a visit in early 2004.

The Bishops Forum (2005 - 6)
The Bishop's Forum delivers support and training for disadvantaged young people through outdoor sports activities. Perfect Moment is helping the organisation to develop a £2million building to deliver its work more effectively, meet the growing demand for work with young people and generate revenue through training and corporate events.

Against Domestic Violence and Abuse (ADVA) (2005 - 8)
