Education, Training, & Skills
Over the years Perfect Moment have been involved in projects across the entire spectrum of education, training, and skills.
Higher and Further Education
We have worked for a number of HE institutions such as the University of Plymouth and University College Falmouth among others.
We have carried out a number of evaluations for projects run by FE colleges in Cornwall and count the national FE body, the Assocation of Colleges as one of our most important clients. With AoC we have developed a 5 year business strategy with their commercial wing, AoC Create, and continue to support various implementation elements.
Higher Education and Business Support
We are currently working with the Formation Zone (the University of Plymouth's uncubation centre for creative industries) to provide a programme of support to start up businesses.
Knowledge Transfer
Perfect Moment undertook research into the potential to create Knowledge Transfer Partnerships in Cornwall with University College Falmouth (UCF). and specifically its AIR project (the Academy of Innovation & Research)
Perfect Moment researched the key businesses and business sectors in the Cornish economy to identify those that could benefit from Knowledge Transfer with UCF.
Knowledge Transfer Partnerships aim to help businesses become more competitive through the better use of knowledge, technology and skills that reside within universities and other knowledge based institutions. Knowledge Transfer Partnerships is a UK-wide programme, funded by the Technology Strategy Board with 17 other funding organisations.
Education
Over the past 14 years Perfect Moment has worked on a range of projects within the education and youth work sectors. We have helped a number of schools attain Specialist Arts College Status (Wilnecote High School in Tamworth, Kidbrooke School in Greenwich, and Cape Cornwall in St Just). We have also undertaken Youth Arts Strategies, Feasibilty Studies, and Project Development (e.g. Waltham Forest Youth Arts Strategy, a youth arts festival in Cumbria, music industry development with Cornwall Youth Music Action Zone, evaluation for London Youth Music Action Zone). Many recent projects in Cornwall have involved delivering on behalf of Creative Partnerships in Cornwall.
Training
Perfect Moment have been heavily involved in the Training and Skills agenda for the Creative Sector. For Prevista, we worked with the Bankside Arts Training Trust delivering a capacity building programme to creative organisations within Lambeth and Southwark, helped design and build online careers and learning programmes for Metier (the former National Training Organisation for the Sector) and assisted with feasibility work on a range of DfES media centres. We have also recently assisted CSV Media with business planning and funding applications for South West operations. We also worked with a Media Training Provider in West London (Connections Communications Centre) to help them with research and business planning with On Track, an online solution to a range of training provider needs
Skills
We have a track record of research in skills (we recently completed skills research as part of the Building Creative Success work in Devon and conducted a major piece of research into education, training and business support provision in Thames Gateway for LSC London East and Thames Gateway London Partnership). We also wrote a Skills report for the LSC entitled Delivering What the Sector Needs
We have assisted Cornwall Marine Network in the development of a local sector skills agreement with LSC Devon and Cornwall and are currently working on one for the Creative Sector.
Perfect Moment have also worked since 1998 as project consultants to Creative Skills in Cornwall. The project is now the leading one of its kind in the UK with strong links with Truro College (F.E.) and Dartington College (H.E.). It is a sector-led initiative delivering annually, to 300 practitioners, a range of training and support services.
We also developed the Business Plan for ArtsMatrix, the South West arm of Arts Council England's Creative people programme of Continuing Professional Development Programme.
