Who we are

Perfect Moment is managed by the two founding partners Kevin Brownridge and John Lancaster. We are a lean and agile organisation putting together teams of freelancers and partnerships with other organisations to best meet the needs of our clients' projects.  All projects are directly led and managed by one of the partners.

Kevin Brownridge

Kevin BWBased in Cornwall, Kevin manages Perfect Moment’s work in the South West.  A strategic thinker and a builder of partnerships Kevin has a wealth of experience in business planning for third sector organisations.   Kevin has had a major role in helping set up strategic organisations such as Cornwall Arts Marketing, Creative Skills, and ArtsMatrix, and led teams on key research studies such as Counting on Creativity, Creative Value and The Creative Edge report.  His expertise on the value of creative industries in rural areas was recognised by invitations to speak at E.U. symposia on the creative industries in Brussels and Barcelona.     

Since 2010, Kevin has become increasing involved in the museums and heritage sector. He co-authored the Cornwall Museums Strategy and led on establishing the Cornwall Museums Partnership as an independent charity.  Recently, Kevin worked with Emmie Kell Consulting on the Cornwall Museum Partnerships successful bid for Arts Council England Major Partnerships Museums Funding.

Kevin’s work at Perfect Moment has included a number of successful capital developments including managing the production of the business plan and fundraising strategy for Krowji - a £7 million centre for the creative industries in Cornwall.

Prior to setting up Perfect Moment in 1995 Kevin had worked for 20 years in education, the probation service, community work and as Director of Training and Development at AllChange one of London’s leading community arts companies.  

Kevin is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.

John Lancaster

John BW2John is based in Canterbury and manages the company's work in the South East. He has 22 years’ consultancy experience in the creative, heritage and third sectors with local, regional, and national organisations. His expertise covers successful capital project development, business planning and support, funding and bid writing, research and evaluation,data management and analysis. He has a long and successful track record in developing realistic sustainable business strategies and securing inward investment for his clients (to date Perfect Moment have helped to secure £56m of funding for their clients).

He has also worked with a wide range of Arts Council England National Portfolio Organisations and recently helped major clients such as Brighton Dome & Brighton Festival and Hall For Cornwall to develop successful capital project strategies helping them secure funding from sources such as Arts Council England and the Heritage Lottery Fund to develop their grade-listed venues. John also developed business plans for these and has carried out business planning work for Youth Music (the national funder of youth music projects) and Association of Colleges Create (the commercial wing of the national FE body). John is also an experience evaluator and recently presented his evaluation on the EU Leonardo funded Euro-Arco Transnational Project on Transferable Skills in the Creative Sector at a conference in Rome.

Before setting up Perfect Moment with Kevin Brownridge, John had been involved with music having worked as a live musician, studio session player, arranger, recording engineer, producer and music tutor - he still pursues this interest when time permits! Alongside this he also set up a number of major voluntary sector projects in London such as Community Sports and Community Music projects.  John is an associate member of the Market Research Society and a member of the Institute of Directors.
